Dr. Ratliff is a PhD prepared geriatric nurse practitioner at the University of Virginia Health System where she manages patients with acute and chronic wounds in the outpatient setting. She teaches at the school of nursing where she is a clinical associate professor and previously was the program director for a Wound Ostomy Continence (WOC) Program. She has spoken at many national meetings on the topics of wound care as well as key publications in the areas of medical adhesive related skin injuries (MARSI), moisture-associated skin damage (MASD), venous leg ulcer (VLU) algorithm, and vascular graft infections. She is the past chair of the WOCN wound guidelines committee which generates clinical guidelines for pressure injuries, lower extremity venous and arterial ulcers, and diabetic foot (neuropathic) ulcers. She is a previous board member of the National Pressure Injury Advisory Panel (NPIAP) and participated in revising the pressure injury staging guidelines. |
